This piece is unique and versatile. It was handmade, from the c. 1920s and used probably as an undergarment/slip for other dresses. It’s sturdy and well made from good fabric and well sewn. The shoulders have a double snap closure and the front a single snap at the neck. The skirt is over the knee with a double ruffle bottom layer. It is likely that this was once an integral layering piece in a ladies wardrobe. It was rescued from an estate sale, kept all these years by a woman who valued this piece of clothing for its heritage, no doubt. It has a few pin holes from age, but is otherwise sound in construction. It’s an amazing part of fashion history. 20” arm hole 22” neck 44” bust 46” waist 39” neck to hem 68” at bottom
