Ukrainian military members disassemble for spare parts a caterpillar tread of a Russian tank left by Russians militaries in a village near Borodianka on April 6, 2022 in Andriivka, Kyiv Oblast, Ukraine. Borodianka was the main route for the offensive of the Russian army on Kyiv during the large-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022. On February 26 Russian armored vehicles appeared on the outskirts of the town. Battles of Russian troops with the Ukrainian Territorial Defence Forces and the police began. On March 1 and 2, Russian aircraft already flew over Borodianka. Airplanes bombed high-rise residential buildings of civilians. On March 5, Borodianka was already under the control of the Russians, despite the fighting on the outskirts. The infrastructure of Borodianka was destroyed during the hostilities - this settlement suffered the worst destruction in the territory of Kyiv Oblast. Borodianka was liberated on April 1, 2022.
