No one likes a dirty pair of shoes — least of all, sneaker-heads. That’s why James Green, 19, founded Fix My Kix. The app connects customers to shoe restoration professionals. From Air Jordans to Yeezys, he’s cashing in on the $16 billion sneaker industry.It all started in Oakland, California, where Green grew up poor and starting drug-dealing in high school. When he realized local cobblers couldn’t fix scuffed-up sneakers, he decided to start his own business. Now Green is inspiring other young men to clean up their act and follow their dreams.
