Ficus Elastica 'Burgundy’ is a favorite of the ficus varieties. This house plant's thick dark foliage makes it a presence in any room. It's a real pleasure to maintain and admire.
The Ficus Burgundy is native to India and Malaysia. Once grown for the sap that produced a low-quality rubber, the ‘Rubber Tree’ can grow to about a hundred feet in its natural habitat. Luckily indoors, this house plant grows to a manageable eight feet if given the chance. It can be pruned accordingly allowing you to choose the look of your ficus. The Burgundy Ficus is low maintenance and displays unique dark waxy foliage.
