1840s riding habit, handstitched
A striking Victorian riding habit, in wool, isuitable for 1837-40s era, and recreated for the Victorian Dressmaker volume 2.
the habit has been used for a photoshoot with horses and has slight marks on the skirt - it is therefore offered at a reduced price
Note:The skirt can be easily shortened for a walking dress!
Features:
* made in high quality wool
* bodice flatlined in cotton, collar and cuffs in silk velvet
* The bodice closes with hooks and bars, there are also hooks and eyes attaching the bodice to the skirt.
*long voluminous skirt, cartridge pleated to the waistband.
* Historical finish everywhere - the habit is entirely HANDSTITCHED.
The accessories, blouse etc. are not included.

Jacket closes at:
waist 28.5" ( 72cm),
bust 40" (102cm), - roughly as it is open in style
back width 15.5" ( 39cm) -
skirt waist closes at 28.5" (72cm), and is very long all the way around, as expected of the habit at that time.
*This style is worn over a Victorian riding corset - wearing it with modern undergarments will be detrimental to the fit ( the bust position). Riding corsets can be purchased from the shop as stock items.
when measuring, please measure on a corset!
